The Proline Highbanker/dredge combination units are simply the best on the market.  It is not simply a highbanker that was retrofitted to be a dredge, it is a machine that was purposefully built to be a combination unit.  It not only is a great highbanker, it is also a great dredge.  When the optional pontoons are added, you have the ultimate in versatility.  The dredge unit uses a power jet instead of a cumbersome suction nozzle to create vacuum, giving you the ability to dredge much longer than you could if you were dragging around two hoses filled with water all day.  This feature alone makes the Proline combination units a joy to work with.

On all Proline combination units, the dredged material enters the unit under the grizzley.  In fact, you can remove the grizzley while dredging, creating a more compact unit to transport.  The reason Proline does this is two-fold.  First of all, your dredged material doesn’t have to be lifted as high, greatly increasing suction power.  Secondly, if the material is deposited on the grizzley, the grizzley must be set at a very steep angle to facilitate the shedding of rocks.  This also means losing some of the gold bearing material before it is thoroughly cleaned.

The highbanker part of the unit is also different than most.  The unit can sit relatively close to the ground to make shoveling in paydirt easier, but the adjustable legs can raise the machine for stream work.  The hoppers are larger than those on other  popular machines.

Most importantly, the grizzley is mounted at the correct angle to give your material a chance to be completely washed in the dual spray hopper.  This eliminates the need to shovel material into the hopper several times to clean it.  The riffles on the 2.5” and 3” units are reinforced to withstand the beating the larger dredged material can give to your riffle system.  The 2.5 and 3” units are also capable of driving an air compressor for added versatility.  Click on the links at the top of the page to continue to our selection of highbankers and highbanker/dredge combos.  My personal choice for the Midwest prospector is the 3” unit.  It is large enough to handle as much material as you can give it, and small enough to be legal in most Midwestern states that allow dredging.
